FAQ’s

Why does Cliffview Chapel hold services in the Kanab

Library Community Room?

Our church is a relatively new church. It was started in July

2005. This is an exciting time for us. As the Lord provides,

we will be securing our own property so we can build our

own church building. Until then, we are renting the spacious

community room at the library.

What is an “independent” Baptist church?

The word "Independent" means that the church is not a member of any council, convention or is a part of any hierarchy outside the local congregation. Thus, the name "independent" means that the church patterns itself after the New Testament example and stands alone under the authority of the Bible. They direct their own affairs under the authority of the New Testament Scriptures, free from the outside interference. The New Testament teaches that Christ is the head of the church (Eph. 5:23), and that the local pastor is the under-shepherd or leader of the congregation (Heb. 13:17).

What makes you different from other churches in the area?

Our worship is sacred and conservative. We still sing the doctrinally-rich hymns of the faith. You won’t find any high-churchy fluff here. We are not stuffy. We are a friendly congregation that loves the Lord and others. We don’t have the theatrical hoopla. Our services are exciting and heart-warming. We preach and teach the Word of God systematically to equip every believer to do the work of the ministry.

Is your church wheelchair accessible?

Yes, our auditorium and rest rooms are both on the ground floor. There is handicap parking and accessibly to the building.

How long are your services?

Each service is generally about one and a quarter hour long. Most folks will tell you that the service time rush by quickly because the music and message is exciting and engaging.

What time should I show up?

The way we look at it: better late than never! Seriously, if you arrive 5 to 10 minutes before the service, you will have plenty of time to get in the building and find a comfortable seat.

Will I have to give something in the offering?

No! As much as we appreciate our visitor’s willingness to give, the ministry of the church is funded through the generosity of our church members.

Are children welcome?

Certainly, yes! We love and cherish our children and often will have programs and services separate from our main services just for kids.

Does the church provide counseling or assistance in crisis?

Yes, our Pastor will take the time to help you through whatever problems you are having at the time. In order to thoroughly help you, it is suggested that you schedule an appointment with the Pastor. However, if the situation merits immediate attention, please don’t hesitate to call

pastor anytime, day or night.
