The Church

Our church was started on Sunday, July 24, 2005 and we held our first service in the Shilo Inn conference room with 18 in attendance. We are an independent, Bible-believing church that features sacred music in our worship and the Authorized (KJV) Bible in our ministry. You will not find any high-churchy fluff or theatrical hoopla here, but just good preaching and teaching straight from the Bible. A warm, cordial welcome awaits you and your family at Cliffview.

The Pastor

Cliffview Chapel Baptist Church was started by Pastor Doug Hounshell.  He was sent out of Harborcreek Baptist in Erie, PA in Spring 2005 as a church planting missionary to start new works in the Inter-Mountain West. Pastor Hounshell was raised as a P.K. (Preacher’s Kid) in Ohio and have pastored churches in Warren, Ohio (9 years) and Waterford, PA (4 years). His wife, Tricia, also grew up in a Christian home in Ohio and was a school teacher. She is now full-time mom and home school teacher. Pastor & Tricia adopted their daughter, Hope, from Korea in 1999 when she was only eight months old.
